Customizing cars, as well as motorcycles and vans, is a craze which started in America as early as 1950s. In this period "young people with little money" bought out of fashion cars and motorcycles of the 1930s and 1940s. Their aim was giving those cars, which otherwise will have been replaced by a new vehicle generation, a new dignity and personality in line with their way of being.
